NFPA 18A Standard on Water Additives for Fire Control and Vapor Mitigation

1.1 Scope. This standard provides the minimum requirements for water additives used for the control and/or suppression of fire and mitigation of flammable vapors.
Use water additives to prevent or reduce the spread of fire according to the latest rules in the 2011 NFPA 18A.

When added to water in proper quantities, water additives are agents that

· And/or provide insulating properties for fuels exposed to radiant heat or direct flame impingement
