NFPA 2112 Standard on Flame-Resistant Garments for Protection of Industrial Personnel Against Flash Fire specifies the minimum design, performance, certification, and testing requirements for flame-resistant fabric and garments for use in areas at risk from flash fires.
Major changes in the 2012 edition include
· Updated terminology from ''Thermal Protective Performance'' to ''Heat Transfer Performance'' and incorporation by reference of ASTM F2700 as the test method.
· Added definition and testing requirements for cold weather insulation materials to ensure that garments incorporating such insulation material are properly tested and certified.
· Clarification of laundering requirements to prevent the presence of residual detergent during testing.
This critical Standard is essential for manufacturers and certifying agencies of fire-resistant garments for industrial personnel. (Softbound, 23 pp., 2012)
