NFPA 274 Standard Test Method to Evaluate Fire Performance Characteristics of Pipe Insulation
NFPA 274 評價絕緣管道的火災性能特性試驗方法標準
1.1* Scope. This standard describes a method for determining the heat release and the smoke generation of pipe insulation assemblies mounted on steel pipes in a full-scale pipe chase.
Use results from the 2009 NFPA 274 to help you select pipe insulation assemblies that contribute less heat, flame, and smoke in fire scenarios.
The 2009 NFPA 274 Standard Test Method to Evaluate Fire Performance Characteristics of Pipe Insulation determines the heat release and smoke generation of pipe insulation and pipe insulation assemblies under controlled laboratory conditions. A method is provided for an examination of the complete insulation assembly including elbows in an actual end use configuration.
This updated Standard edition contains a new requirement for quantifiable temperature measurement at the top of the test apparatus chase using thermocouples rather than a subjective observation of the presence of flames. Other minor changes clarify committee intent. (Softbound, 13 pp., 2009)
